Last year was one for the record books at Georgia Ports Authority. The GPA handled a record 4.2 million twenty-foot equivalent units, intermodal rail lifts surged to 435,000 and gate moves exceeded 2.3 million. This success would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of GPA's partners in Georgia's maritime and logistics community.
At 1,200 acres, the Port of Savannah's Garden City Terminal is North America's largest single container terminal. Over the next decade, Georgia Ports Authority plans to expand the Port of Savannah's annual capacity by 45 percent - from 5.5 million twenty-foot equivalent units to 8 million TEUs per year.
